While resolutely modern and contemporary, the musical universe of Titi Robin has been inspired by the ancient Mediterranean civilization, uniting a number of artistic styles that can be found along its banks, from the south of the Balkans up to northern Africa, from the south of Europe up to the Machreq (Levant). This Mediterranean culture has been nourished by the cultural and philosophical flow, which originated in Northern India and crossed Central Asia. The Gypsies have followed the same path.

Thus, as a contemporary artist, Titi Robin does not create “fusion” but takes in, through the net of his inspiration, elements, which are part of this mosaic, both diversified and homogeneous, which has preexisted his approach for ages. Today, he would like to pay it homage in his own language, to thank the Elders who have nourished this treasure. The audience in those countries has only rarely the occasion to judge the work of artists from Western countries as it is almost unavailable to them. Perhaps the time has come to reverse this trend.

This is what Titi Robin wants to realize in three countries in which he has often performed and to which he has a strong artistic and personal link: India, Turkey and Morocco. His upcoming project is to produce one album in each of these countries that will contain his original repertoire, representative of his style and of what it owes to each country, and interpreted by local artists. From the musical and stylistic point of view, there will be a number of corresponding points between the repertoire on each of the three albums in order to highlight stylistic differences as well as the common points among the three countries.
