Isabelle Anna is one of the rare non-Indian dancers to be recognized by the Indian government as an ambassador of Kathak dance abroad. Along with her company Kaléïdans’Scop, she will present a performance in four acts going from the traditional expression towards the cutting edge of Kathak. “I speak Kathak” explores the visual and acoustic games of rhythms; “Toros” is a succession of 12 scenes on rituals and worship associated to the mythology of the Bull; “My Bolero” is a personal solo interpretation of the well-known Bolero by Ravel; “Trilogy” is a choreographic research on pure abstraction based on the music of the Italian composer Luigi Nono.

If I Were King - Comic Opera by Adolphe Adam

If I Were King was written in 1852 by the famed Adolphe Adam, after his melodious ‘Le Postillon de Longjumeau’ (1836) and ballet music, `Giselle’ (1841). The action takes place in Goa in 1510, before the Portuguese invasion. A young Princess is saved from drowning by a fisherman. They inevitably fall in love. The opera unfolds their trials and tribulations till they can meet again.

Ziskakan was founded by Gilbert Pounia in 1979. Playing maloya music at kabary (meaning “assembly”), they developed a contemporary type of maloya infused with genuine Reunion Creole culture, mirroring the mix of its multi-cultural inhabitants. Ziskakan was awarded Best Group at Les Césaires de la Musique in 2007 for the album ‘Banjara’
