The Lycée Français opens its doors wide to India with a New Section of Excellence in Science (from class 9 to 12) for English – speaking Indian and international students selected after passing a test in English at the end of 8th standard in mathematics and science. Bachelor Students in Architecture and Civil engineering are to submit an intelligent, innovative and sensitive architectural idea for the creation of an Indo European Cultural Centre that adresses issues of climate change, energy efficiency, water and waste management, choice of building materials respecting sustainability concerns. The winners will be awarded, internships sponsored by the French Embassy in January
India’s grand obsession with films – along with cricket, religion and politics always generates much interest. A new confidence abounds in young Indian film-makers today. The contest taps into this energy by offering internships at the best French schools of cinema and animation. A jury of eminent panelists from French and Indian institutes will select the exceptional entries from both countries.
The book ‘Mots transparent’ is a documentation of shared vocabulary between the French and English language. From Architecture to Wagon, English speakers already know thousands of French words; this is celebrated on the occasion of the Bonjour India festival ! With the technical support of E-Nova, an internet version of the book will also be launched. A national quiz competition will award the winners with scholarships to study French in one of the Alliances Françaises, the Indo-French cultural centres for learning the French language.

Postcards from Paris

“Postcards from Paris” is an event showcasing France and a celebration of French culture in all its richness and diversity. On this occasion 18 Delhi Public Schools of the NCR region and more than twenty schools of Delhi have been invited to participate in a variety of competitions focusing on France Dance Competition, Poster making competition, Solo Song Competition, Poetry Competition and a Quiz on France will be organised. The elimination competition will start at 12 noon till 1 or 2 p.m. in different venues of the school campus.
